Yesterday’s post was good, but a might involved, what with making buttermilk and all, so let’s take it easy today, and put together some dessert to go with our meatloaf – a cake!
“But, but, wait!” you say “Cake is tricky!”
Not this cake.
There are only three ingredients, and no mixing or stirring; just a bit of apple chopping and butter melting.
Let us also thank the nice folk at Betty Crocker™ for a fine, and wicked simple, recipe (I know, I didn’t use one of their mixes, I had this one in the pantry, and it just proves you’ll get a good result whichever brand you try.
Heat your oven to 350º and apply cooking spray to the bottom of a 13×9 baking pan.
Arrange the apples in the bottom of the pan in more or less a single, level layer.
The nice folk at Betty Crocker™ recommend serving this warm, mebbe with a bit of good vanilla ice cream and some caramel sauce, but, if you’ve made yours a bit ahead, just pop a slice in the ‘wave for about 15 seconds, then proceed with the ice cream and caramel sauce.
