Smoked Salmon Spread

As the season of gatherings and get-togethers rushes in up on us, here’s a deliciously different take on a cocktail spread…

Smoked salmon…

with whipped, flavored cream cheese – I used a combination of spicy jalapeño and garden veggies – Boursin cheese, red onion, lemon juice, parsley, and assorted seasonings. It was a pretty big hit at our last Book Club Gathering.

INGREDIENTS
•8 oz smoked salmon
•1 pkg (5.2 oz) Boursin cheese
•4 oz whipped cream cheese
•1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
•1 tsp lemon juice
•1 tsp Cajun Power Spicy Garlic Pepper Sauce, or your fave hot sauce, to taste
•1/4 tsp black pepper
•1/4 tsp Aleppo pepper
•1/4 tsp paprika
•1/8 tsp Cayenne
•1/4 tsp black pepper
•1/8 tsp garlic powder

I used a packaged smoked salmon because I had some on hand, but, if you have a local smokehouse, check out their offerings.

Combine all of the ingredients together in a mixing bowl with an electric mixer, then transfer to a covered container and stash in the fridge for a couple of hours – or – always more better – overnight to allow the flavors to blend.

Serve with assorted crackers and breads, or…

it also makes for a fine sammich!

Just a thought.
