We met friends for dinner Saturday night at this cool place downtown; Zed 451.
Billed as ‘an unconventional steakhouse’, it was, for us, a 3 hour exploration of meats, fish, and fowl on skewers, and MY! was it tasty! Everyone’s favorite, hands down, was the hoisin glazed pork belly; followed closely, for me, by the rib-eye steak and the venison (tho’ Bob thought that a bit gamey). Bob (not that Bob, the other Bob) was well pleased with the chimichurri steak and the Moroccan chicken.
Nicely lit, just noisy enough, and as well appointed for crowds as for just a couple, my only regret is that I didn’t visit the Harvest and Charcuterie Tables more – the quinoa tabbouleh, spiced green bean salad, and duck prosciutto were all pretty amazing, and there was so much more I wanted to try.
With drinks, coffee, and dessert, it came out to about $180 per couple, so it was not a cheap Saturday night out, but none of us left feeling ill-used. You should definitely check it out.
