So, yeh, bread is no longer a regular part of our diet, but sometimes, you just want you some.
And fresh, warm bread is really hard to pass up, especially when it is sweet honey French bread, tossed together with little effort in the bread machine.
As a matter of fact, I do often think about starting this bread in the machine, then turning the dough out to bake in the oven, but, really, it’s just so simple like this…
INGREDIENTS
•1 tbsp olive oil
•1-1/3 cup water
•1-1/2 tbsp Honey
•3 cups flour
•1 tbsp sugar
•1/2 tsp salt
•2 tsp yeast
Follow your bread machine’s instructions for how to add the ingredients; mine calls for wet, then dry, then yeast, so I add the water, olive oil, and honey to the pan, then whisk the sugar and salt into the flour and spoon that on top of the liquid. Sprinkle the yeast over that, then close your machine and choose your cycle.
The original recipe called for setting for a 1-1/2 pound basic loaf, but I have found that the two pound setting works mebbe a little bit better and gives me an airier, crustier loaf.
See? It’s really hard to pass that up.
