I’ve posted before about how much we’ve been enjoying Martha and Snoop Dogg’s Potluck Dinner Party on VH1, and that we liked the recipes I’ve tried, like Snoop Dogg’s Tartar Sauce (yummy!); so when it came time to cook up a mess of bacon for, among other things, caramelized onion dip, I decided to try Snoop’s very unfussy way to cook your bacon.
Note: if you like your bacon in flat, straight strips, this recipe is not for you; this’ll give you tasty, curly bits o’ bacon goodness.
INGREDIENTS
•Bacon
•Seasonings*
*I used a maple garlic seasoning and added a bit of black pepper. Sugar might could be good here, too.
Separate the bacon into individual strips and add them to a pan over medium high heat. Don’t worry about crowding the pan.
Cook over medium heat, moving the bacon around, until it is cooked through and as crispity as you like.
Transfer the bacon to a paper towel lined plate to drain then, bonus!, pour the bacon fat through a fine meshed sieve and stash in a covered container in the fridge.
Use the bacon fat to, oh, I don’t no, mebbe caramelize some pearl onions?
