Snoop Dogg’s Tartar Sauce

One of our favorite new shows this season has been Martha & Snoop’s Potluck Dinner Party on VH1. Each week, Martha Stewart and Snoop Dogg gather a couple of friends, make some cocktails, and cook based on a theme – be it holiday (Thanksgiving) or food (fried chicken).

Recently, on a fish themed episode, Snoop Dogg shared his tartar sauce recipe, and, while I am pretty happy with my own tartar sauce recipe, I am always more than happy to try something new and just a bit different.

First,  let me tell you, there is rather a lot of garlic powder in this tartar sauce, but that’s ok – it all comes out like a kind of an Aioli tartar sauce.

INGREDIENTS
•1 cup mayonnaise
•1/2 cup sour cream
•2 tbsp sweet relish*
•1/4 tsp white vinegar
•2 tsp onion powder
•2 tsp garlic powder
•1/2 tsp black pepper
•1/4 tsp Cayenne

*I used my own Chop Pickle, but go ahead and use whatever sweet pickle relish you have on hand.

Combine all of the ingredients together in a bowl, then transfer to a jar, cover, and stash in the fridge for a couple of hours to allow the flavors to blend.

Really, really good!
