I was surfing somewhere, and came across a salad dressing recipe that looked too simple and just plain tasty, that I had to try it. Lot’s of sites and folk have sweet and tangy salad dressing recipes out there (I checked), but this one, from southernbite.com, is one of the simplest, and has a heckuva lot less sugar than some of the other recipes.
I made it, with a few changes, and really liked it. I think you will too, but don’t leave it just for regular salad, try this in cole slaw and pasta salads, too.
INGREDIENTS
•1/2 cup veggie oil
•1/2 cup cider vinegar
•1/2 tsp salt
•3/4 tsp seasoned salt*
•3 tbsp sugar
•1/4 tsp dry mustard
•1/8 tsp black pepper
•1/8 tsp Aleppo pepper
•1 tsp poppy seed
*Why buy seasoned salt? It is wicked simple to toss together. I keep a jar of this on the counter for whenever my NaCl needs some punching up.
Making the salad dressing is a snap; simply place all the ingredients in a pint sized mason jar, screw the lid on tightly, and shake until combined.
Stash in the fridge until needed, then shake again and serve.
I liked it so much I drizzled some over my salad and my sriracha mac and cheese with my steak fried pork chop.
