Cheesy – in a GOOD Way – Old Bay Biscuits

A tube of biscuits, some melted butter, Old Bay Seasoning, and shredded cheese all come together to give you a fine batch o’ biscuit goodness!

The recipe (surprise, from the nice folk at Pillsbury) calls these “Cheddar Bay Biscuits” after the popular side at Red Lobster.

Do they taste like the ones from there? I do not know, we don’t go to Red Lobster; but, they are pretty darned tasty, and certainly simple enough to make at home.

INGREDIENTS
•2 tbsp butter, melted
•1-1/4 tsp Old Bay™ seasoning
•1/2 tsp garlic powder
•1 can (16.3 oz) buttermilk biscuits
•1 cup finely shredded Cheddar cheese
•1/2 teaspoon dried parsley flakes

Heat your oven to 350º and line a baking pan with parchment paper.

Remove the biscuits from the can, separate into eight biscuits, then pull each one into two layers and arrange eight bottom pieces on the baking pan.

Stir the Old Bay and garlic powder into the butter and brush some onto each biscuit bottom. Top with about two teaspoons of the cheese, and then place the remaining biscuit halves on top.

Brush these with the remaining butter mixture, the top with the remaining cheese.

Sprinkle parsley flakes over the biscuits and bake until golden brown – about 15 minutes.

Remove from the oven and serve.

These are, indeed, most excellent warm from the oven, but a leftover for breakfast the next day is not too, too bad either.

Note: I used Pillsbury Grands Southern Homestyle Buttermilk Biscuits.
