Yeh.
I know, it sounds like a weird, never gonna work combination; but it is actually wicked tasty, and perfect for sammiches, as an actual salad, and even as a dip for crackers.
I came across the original recipe years ago on allrecipes.com, and have made a few changes to suit my mood and my tastes.
I totally skip the called for dill, but will sometimes add garlic and pickle relish.
The main constants are the tuna, the curry powder, and the cheese.
INGREDIENTS
Basic:
•1/2 cup diced red onion
•1/2 cup diced celery
•1 can tuna
•1 tbsp grated Parmesan (or Romano)
•2 tbsp fresh chopped parsley
•1/2 tsp curry powder
•1/2 tsp poppy seed
•1/2 cup mayonnaise
Additional Add Ins:
•2 tbsp pickle relish
•1/8 tsp garlic powder
•Sliced scallions
Stir the mayonnaise together with the Parmesan, parsley, curry powder, and poppy seeds until well blended.
Drain the tuna – I like oil packed, but use what you prefer – then stir in to the mayonnaise mixture along with the onion, celery, and anything else you may happen to like; the relish and garlic are both an especially nice addition.
Transfer to a bowl, cover tightly, and stash in the fridge, ideally for at least a couple of hours to allow the flavors to blend.
Nicely different, but still totally a comfort food dish.
