Steak, T-Bone, Broiled

03aSteakPlatebfLOSometimes, you just want a basic dinner, like…

a steak.

And mebbe a baked potato and a bit of freshly roasted asparagus.

Yeh, that’ll do.

And easily, too, with the aid of your broiler, a few basic seasonings, and (surprisingly) a dash of vinegar (!)

01aSteaksSeasonedbfLOINGREDIENTS
•2 t-bone steaks
•sea salt
•Tellicherry pepper
•Garlic, minced
•Red wine vinegar

01cSteaksBroiledbfLOBring the steaks to room temperature, then season one side of each with the salt, pepper and garlic.

Drizzle with red wine vinegar and rub the seasonings in,, then flip the steaks and repeat.

Let rest at room temp for 30 minutes and pre-heat your broiler.

03aAspRoastedReadybfLOArrange the steaks on your broiler pan and cook for five minutes. If the steaks look browned enough for your tastes, flip and cook for another five minutes. If they look a bit too rare, continue cooking, checking every minute or so.

When the steaks are done to your liking, remove from the broiler pan and let rest, covered with foil, on a rack for a few minutes before serving.

While the steaks are resting would be the perfect time to pop some asparagus in the oven – we like this version with a bit of freshly shaved cheese and Aleppo pepper placed on top for the last few minutes of roasting.

Add a baked potato, and you have yourself a pretty decent dinner.
