Seasoned Salt – With a Twist!

Seasoned Salt?

Like the stuff I can buy at the store?

Yep; but better… because you get to decide what blend of seasonings to include.

Cumin? Not for me, thanks; but curry powder? Yes, please!

Besides, why not put those seasonings you already have to work instead of buying yet another jar of something?

INGREDIENTS
•4 tbsp salt
•4 tsp sugar
•1 tsp garlic powder
•1/2 tsp onion powder
•1/2 tsp paprika
•1/2 tsp curry powder
•1/2 tsp turmeric
•1/2 tsp cornstarch (see note)
•1/4 tsp black pepper
•1/4 tsp Cayenne

Note: so, I was making the latest batch, and, I was out of cornstarch! So, off to da google, and, did you know you can substitute arrowroot? Well, you can, so go ahead and use 1/2 teaspoon of arrowroot in place of the cornstarch; and remember, not a fan of curry? Substitute something else – that is one of the great things about making it yourself.

Whisk all of the ingredients together and transfer to a covered container.

I keep mine right near the regular and Kosher salt on the countertop for whenever I might need it.

Which is rather a lot.

Consider, for example, a salad…

just a bit of Seasoned Salt (like 1/4 teaspoon or so, depending on the size of your salad bowl) tossed with the greens and veggies just before serving can really up the flavor.
